You may or may not know about this tool, but I'll risk and tell you about it anyway.
Wayback Machine allows you to virtually travel through time and view websites as they were at a certain date.
You can follow the changes a site has undergone from its "infancy" or view important sites on the date of a certain major world event, such as the 'September 11' one, or the crucial 2000 US elections :-/ .
Or you can just randomly see the previous states of sites you know and use, just for the laughs of it.
I know this is what I do...
- just type in the URL (web address) of the site you want to view -
