Action hero...

Which Action Hero Would You Be? v. 2.0
from Cata
You scored as James Bond, Agent 007

James Bond is MI6's best agent, a suave, sophisticated super spy with charm, cunning, and a license's to kill. He doesn't care about rules or regulations and somewhat amoral. He does care about saving humanity though, as well as the beautiful women who fill his world. Bond has expensive tastes, a wide knowledge of many subjects, and his usually armed with a clever gadget and an appropriate one-liner.

Kick the guy!

If you go here, you'll find a game in which you've got to kick (by deciding the angle and strength) a guy, and then help him get as far as he can, using the left click... cool time-waster!

My current record is 1787m (yeah, I know, I'm good! :)) )

Type the alphabet!

It's Sunday afternoon, so everybody needs some fun.

- This is a typing-speed test in which you've got to write the letters of the alphabet as fast as you can. The guy who made it has his record at 1,96 seconds. My personal best (so far) is 3,08 (:D).

- This is a reflex-testing game in which you've got to avoid being hit by the red balls.

Good luck! :))

Sand and flames

Here's a cool simulation involving falling sand! You can also build walls, use Nitro, C4, Napalm, Fire, Plants, and other materials to create your own environment...if you get bored, you can also pour a little Nitro, C4 and Oil into a cup made of "Plant" and then set the plant aflame, watching the whole thing explode beautifully. - I think I've had a bit too much Coke this morning.

Shuffle for the win!

I've been tagged by Denize. Here are the rules:

1.Put your music player on shuffle.
2.Press forward for each question.
3.Use the song title as the answer to the question even if it doesn’t make sense. NO CHEATING!
4.Bold the questions and with the answers, give your own comments on how it relates to the questions.
5.Tag 5 people.

Ok, here we go:

1. How are you feeling today?
Rammstein - Du Hast (not in the mood?)
2. Will you get far in your life?
Louis Armstrong - What a wonderful world (so, I'll grow old and be very happy and live in a beautiful environment with happy people? - slim chances, but if Louis says so...)
3. How do your friends see you?
Anathema - Closer (Your dream world is a very scary place/To be trapped
inside... - so they think I'm a helpless dreamer?)
4. Will you every marry?
Tenacious D - Friendship (Friendship is rare...)
5. What is the favourite theme of your best friend?
Vangelis - Eternal Alexander (instrumental)
6. What is the story of your life?
Charles Aznavour - Morir de Amor (LoL:|)
7. How was it in highschool?
Smokie - Don´t Take Your Love Away This Time (...)
8. How can you advance in life?
Staind - So Far Away (by never regretting what I've done and never being ashamed of who I am?)
9. What is the coolest thing about your friends?
Right Said Fred - I'm Too Sexy (true...true... =)))
10. What's in store for the weekend?
Steppenwolf - Born to Be Wild (perfect, considering the fact that I've got an Olympiad in Informatics and one in English then...)
11. What song describes you best?
HIM - The Funeral Of Hearts ( He was the moon painting you
with its glow so vulnerable and pale...)
12. How about your grandparents?
The Stooges - I Wanna Be Your Dog (Now I'm ready to close my eyes/And now I'm ready to close my mind/And now I'm ready to feel your hand/And lose my heart on the burning sands)
13. How is your life going?
Falco - Rock Me Amadeus (He was a Punker/And he lived in the big city/It was Vienna, was Vienna/Where he did everything/He had debts, for he drank/But all the women loved him - translation...riiiiight!)
14. What song will play at your funeral?
HIM - The face of god (Nothing will be enough/For the ones who keep on stumbling/In the garden of withering trust/Without the courage to leave - would have rather preferred "For My Fallen Angel" , but this works, too...)
15. How does the world see you?
3SudEst - Cand Soarele Rasare (LOL, if you don't know them, don't bother
asking, if you do, still don't...)
16. Will you have a happy life?
Therion - Helheim (Hel, the godess of death is also the godess of fulfilment. Her name means both "hole" and "whole" and she governs not only death but also the process of birth and rebirth. - so, I guess I'll have a life full of death and rebirth? - that's good, right?)
17. What do your friends really think about you?
Daniel Iancu - Muri'ti'ar capra (hahahahahahhahaah=-))=)) )
18. Are there people that secretly want you?
Him - Soul On Fire (perhaps?)
19. How to make myself happy?
After Forever - Dreamflight (keep on living through dreams, like a dreamer that I am?)
20. What should you do with your life?
Los Lobos with Antonio Banderas - Morena De Mi Corazon (become a latin, macho guitar player/part time assassin?)

I'd like to nominate Cata, Deedee, Matei, Adi and Mihai. And whoever else wants to take this funny test, do it and write about it in the comments section.

A Cheerful post

Here's how a cheerful post looks like:

  • Here is a nice game that has you use mirrors and other optical devices to light some bulbs.
  • Here is a funny animation of a very strange door.
  • Here is a full-page animation of some anonymous line-midgets that run, jump and fall all across the screen.
  • Here is a Harry Potter fan-made movie using the song "De la Sate" played by Romanian group "Fara Zahar".
  • Here are some funny pictures:

Whack that fly!

Here's a nice game: you've got to smack ten flies as quick as you can, with the fewest whacks possible.

:-) I've got them in 16,3 seconds and 19 strokes (accuracy = 53% :>)...

White Dwarf

Here's a nifty little game:

I made 4065 on my first try...pretty nice and fun tool for sharpening your reflexes with the mouse.

Later Edit: New record: 26280 (Padfoot) - Let's smash it!

Dots

This is another add to the Fun section: a game named "Dots" that has you selecting dots two dots at a time to create a line between them, the goal being who can "take over" more squares (boxes), you or your opponent (the computer).

To take over a box, you have to be the one who constructs the fourth, and last, line that defines the respective square.

My current record of boxes captured in one game is 45 (out of 49), the computer only taking 4 of them, and even those were given away by me (pic on the left side).

Flying man game

Here is a funny little animation-game that lets you take control of a flying man.

Tip: you can interact with the stuff that you meet up there by moving up to them.

Test your reflexes!

Test your reflexes at the following mini-game, trying to avoid the four blue boxes that fly and bounce around the screen with your mouse while holding the left button clicked on the red box. (Tip: you can't touch the black edges either)

It reads there that if you manage 18 secs, "you are doing brilliantly". I've only played a few times, and so far I've gotten 15.13 seconds.

Battleship

I'm sure you've all played or, at least, heard of Battleship, the board-game in which you have to hit the positions (squares) occupied by your opponent's ships.

Well, here are two versions of it:

- a very simple one, with the following pieces: 1 x 5 squares, 2 x 4 squares, 4 x 3 squares, 4 x 2 squares - Click!

- a more complicated one, with cooler graphics that lets you choose where to place you starting ships, which has got the following ships: 1 x 5 squares, 1 x 4 squares, 2 x 3 squares and 1 x 2 squares - Click!

Enjoy!

Throw paper!

A very fun and addictive little flash web game that tries to take away boredom:

Try and see how many pieces of paper you can consecutively throw in the bin.

P.S. My current record is 12.
P.S.2. 14.
P.S.3. (get it - PS3? :-) ) 19
P.S.4. 21

Play time!

There's a time for work, but a time comes when you need to relax, that's what I always say.

Today's tool for playing lies on the following HERE.

Just move the mouse around and the shapes start moving. You can select a different background from the lower left corner and different modes from the lower right one. Click to choose another shape and guide it with your mouse around the screen.

Make some noise!

If you like music and/or sound effects, the following link will provide you with quite some fun.

It's a little tool that lets you create music with your keyboard, with some limitations as to what notes, sound effects, or voice effects you can use (right side for preview - press for bigger picture).

Once you get the hang of the system, you can record the song you create and save it for later streaming. You can also listen to a couple of hundred (or even thousands) of other songs created by the other users, actually watching the music being made (you see every keystroke the "dj" uses).

Formal apology

Here's something the God of bureaucracy should be proud of: a form for apologizing to someone.

Pretty useful if you've done something you're not proud of recently (especially because Christmas is approaching and all of us should try and make amends for the mistakes we've done - if any :-)) ) , or simply if you want to make someone smile.

On your right, you've got a preview of what the uncompleted form looks like (click for bigger picture), waiting for you to personalize it, sign in your name and send it to someone to whom you've made something you consider to be unkind, selfish, or otherwise not cool :-).

Click HERE for the apology form!

I think I should send one to Santa and apologize for ever doubting the fact that he exists...
